Hi, my name is Gladstone Alves. I usually go by the username 'maverickmath' online.
I'm a Decision Engineer.
I'm also probably the worst at maths of all Erdős number 4s.
Some of my favourite things are novelty, silent observation, forecasting, Cassini (the space probe), Europa (the moon), progressive metal, Paul Halmos, Marvin Minsky, and David Foster Wallace.
This website contains texts on different topics, including (but not limited to) decision making, personal productivity, autism, and space exploration. (Warning: most texts are in Brazilian Portuguese).
It follows the idea of "Long Content": pages that are continually getting refined and updated, never quite completely finished, but approaching stability. For this reason, articles are not published by date, but rather by category.
For every text, there are several tags attached to it. Confidence tags describe how much I believe that the content of a specific page will turn out to be correct.
The status tags indicate the state of progress for a piece. The importance tag is an integer between 1 and 10, inclusive.
